Our mission is to empower creators, communities, and small businesses to build meaningful, lasting relationships with their audiences.

We believe creative entrepreneurs should own the relationship with their audience, and that extricating that relationship from social media platforms creates better incentive structures and a more sustainable model for the creator economy.

🤳 Our mission


The infrastructure of the modern web is owned by a handful of gatekeepers. The big social media apps control distribution and use that power to mediate the relationship between creators and followers, brands and customers, community builders and members. They do this so they can absorb as much data about as many people as possible in order to better serve us all with ads.

Relationships are at the core of every business, so it isn't hard to see this makes for some pretty terrible incentive structures on both the supply and demand side of the creator economy. As long as their business models are driven by advertising, social media platforms can never truly put creators first. At the same time, gatekeepers do serve a critical purpose: they’re where discovery happens for millions of small businesses and communities, and more people than ever before are building, creating, and selling on the internet.

These creators need tools that work alongside the distribution channels they depend on, but give them the power to reclaim their relationships from social media and take ownership of their audience. They need tools that have a business model that’s fundamentally aligned with theirs. And for those just getting started on their journey, they need tools that help them learn how to be successful while avoiding burnout.

That’s what we’re building at Norby. A platform for people and relationships – not the attention economy. A platform where anyone – no matter how many followers they have – can build a community around their passion, and if they choose, turn it into a business. Our customers are an incredibly diverse group – they range from activists to solopreneurs to brands to famous influencers with millions of followers.

It’s our job to arm this next generation with the tools they need to write their own futures.
